Our College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was awarded the honorary title of “National Advanced Collective in the Education System” in 2024

Recently, on the occasion of the 40th Teachers’ Day, in order to vigorously promote the spirit of educators, create a strong atmosphere of respecting teachers and valuing education in the whole society, and encourage teachers and educators across the country to implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, and actively participate in the construction of a strong education country, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Education decided to award 585 units the title of “National Advanced Collective of the Education System”, 716 comrades the title of “National Model Teacher”, 895 comrades the title of “National Excellent Teacher”, 80 comrades the title of “National Advanced Worker of the Education System”, and 99 comrades the title of “National Excellent Educator”. Among them, the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of our university was awarded the honorary title of “National Advanced Collective of the Education System” in 2024.

The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the leading construction unit of Hunan Province’s “World-Class Cultivation Disciplines”. The college has deeply cultivated the Hunan traditional Chinese medicine culture and formed a three-dimensional education model of “educating people with morality, healing people with benevolence, and educating people with culture”. It has produced advanced collectives such as the Huang Danian-style teaching team of national universities, the national teaching team of Chinese medicine diagnosis, and advanced teacher models such as national candidates of the Hundred Thousand Talents Project, Qiyan Scholars, Hunan Furong Teaching Masters, and Hunan Outstanding Teachers.

The college insists on seeking truth and innovation, and has won two second prizes in national teaching achievements, presided over 33 national projects such as the National Key R&D Program, won 8 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, 28 national society awards, published 35 national planning textbooks, and published more than 800 high-level academic papers; it won 1 first prize and 1 second prize in the National College Teachers Teaching Innovation Competition, and 5 first prizes in provincial teaching competitions.

The college focuses on reforming the talent training model and actively implements the “Soul-building and Talent-cultivating” project for great medical masters, experts and scholars, young teachers, class teachers, and counselors. It has guided students to win more than 100 awards in various disciplines, science and technology, and cultural and sports competitions at all levels, including the Gold Medal in the China College Students’ Medical Technology Skills Competition. Many students have won provincial and above honorary titles such as National Outstanding Communist Youth League Member, China College Students Self-improvement Star, Hunan Province’s Top 100 College Student Party Members, and Hunan Province’s First “Most Beautiful College Student”.
