Admissions open for December 2026 Intake
HUTCM offers a six-year MBBS clinical medicine curriculum. A required one-year clinical internship in one of the university’s fifteen affiliated hospitals comes after five years of theoretical and practical preclinical/clinical study.
Curriculum Breakdown by YearYear 1: Basic science, basic medical sciences, and Mandarin language instruction.
Preclinical medicine classes covering anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and biochemistry are taught in years two and three.
Years 4-5: Internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatments are all covered in clinical coursework.
Year 6: Practical clinical internship in affiliated hospitals to gain skills in diagnosis and treatment.

Clinical Medicine in China Admissions are Open for Dec 2026 Intake.

Scholarships for International Students
奖学金
For exceptional students pursuing 6 years clinical medicine and other degrees, the Hunan University of Chinese Medicine offers the Hunan Provincial Government Scholarship, which is worth 15,000 RMB. The many kinds of scholarships are explained as follows:
- Chinese Language: 6000 RMB annually
- Clinical Medicine): 15,000 RMB annually
- Scholarship for a Master’s Degree: 20,000 RMB annually
- Scholarship for a Doctorate: 23,000 RMB annually
Academic accomplishment (final test scores, midterm examinations, attendance, and behavior) accounts for 70% of scholarship eligibility, while extracurricular activities (quiz contests, Chinese language projects, sports, etc.) account for 30%.
