Medical students of our school bravely rescued unconscious passengers

Recently, He Jinghui, a sophomore student majoring in Traditional Chinese Medicine Orthopedics at the First Clinical College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of our university, successfully performed emergency rescue on a passenger during a journey. He demonstrated the responsibility and commitment of medical students with practical actions and won wide praise from all walks of life.

In the early morning of August 27, on the K768 train from Shiyan to Wuchang, a passenger suddenly fell ill and was in critical condition. He Jinghui, who was on the train, responded quickly, stepped forward and carried out first aid. Faced with the emergency situation of the patient’s convulsions and foaming at the mouth, He Jinghui quickly carried out rescue with solid knowledge and skills of Chinese medicine first aid. He first stabilized the patient’s position, and then used disposable chopsticks on the train to act on the tongue to prevent the patient from suffocating due to tongue atrophy. At the same time, he used Chinese medicine techniques to accurately stimulate the patient’s acupuncture points. After a series of intense and orderly first aid measures, the patient’s symptoms gradually eased, his breathing returned to normal, and his consciousness gradually became clear.

He Jinghui’s heroic act not only won the gratitude of the patient’s family and the admiration of the passengers on the train, but also demonstrated the unique advantages and value of TCM emergency treatment in emergency situations. Afterwards, the patient’s family said excitedly: “Thanks to this student, my family was able to turn danger into safety. We are very grateful!” But He Jinghui said modestly: “This is just what I should do as a medical student. I hope to use the knowledge I have learned to help more people.”

Afterwards, Ho Ching-hui said: “This crisis was resolved thanks to the TCM diagnostic knowledge I learned. I was able to quickly determine that the patient had fainting due to sudden wind-phlegm blocking the meridians, and I quickly applied the knowledge I learned from TCM clinical practice to initiate first aid.”

He used his summer vacation to intern at the First Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Rucheng County in his hometown, closely combining the knowledge he learned with practice, and constantly improving his professional skills and comprehensive quality. Talking about his medical study, He Jinghui said passionately: “I dream of becoming a young Chinese medicine practitioner in the new era, integrating Chinese medicine into life, bringing Chinese medicine to the masses, and leading the trend. I hope that through my own efforts, more people will believe in, love, and use Chinese medicine.”
